The inspiration for our Smart Greenhouse began at home. Jason, our founder, watched his grandfather—a lifelong gardener—struggle to keep up with the physical demands of his passion. As he aged, the constant bending to check soil moisture and the heavy lifting required for irrigation became barriers to the hobby that kept him active. We looked for solutions to help him, but we found a frustrating gap: the "smart planters" available on sites like Amazon were far too small to grow a meaningful food supply, serving more as high-tech decorations than functional agricultural tools and the commercial greenhouses were way too overkill and expensive.

Our "lightbulb moment" occurred while we were exploring mobile apps that use computer vision to identify houseplant diseases. We asked ourselves: What if we took this professional-grade AI and built it into a full-scale, personal greenhouse? We realized that by combining a Raspberry Pi 5 with Google Vertex AI, we could create a system that doesn't just monitor a garden, but "understands" it.

Our mission became clear: to democratize "Green Tech" by creating a high-efficiency environment that produces a substantial supply of healthy, pesticide-free food. By integrating solar power and automated "drip" irrigation, we’ve built a system that acts as a second set of eyes and hands for the grower.
